Welcome to Department of Biology

The Department of Botany of N.A.S College, Meerut came into existence in the year of 2003. The Department of Botany has vastly grown in stature and standard with time. The department has a very experienced, dedicated, knowledgeable, passionate and well qualified faculty. Students are taught basic and applied aspects of Botany. The Department provides students a comfortable environment for their learning and overall grooming for future careers.

The aim was to import higher learnings in innovative areas by providing them an insight into future careers options.

The vision of the department of botany is to empower our students in various upcoming thrust areas of basic and applied sciences. We will increase the ability of critical thinking, development of scientific attitude, handling of situation and generating solution, orienting them towards learning and investigation, improve and refine practical skill, increase awareness, use of plant resources by recognizing the ethical value system.

The Mission- Botany being an important component to life Sciences, offers immense opportunities . We shall produce competent biologist who can employ and implement their gained knowledge in basic and applied aspect that will influence the agriculture industry, healthcare system and environment provide sustainable development.

The Department of Botany is well known for its untiring efforts and sincere dedication for setting the best standards of teaching-learning process. We strongly believe that pedagogy is well strengthened not only by imparting best lectures but also by giving students an exposure of 'hands on practice' through practical classes and research projects. The department inculcates scientific and experimental spirit in the students. For the holistic development of a student, inculcation of a scientific temper by supplementing the conventional classroom and modern teaching with botanical excursions, seminars, guest lectures , slide shows, quiz competitions, scientific debates, plantation programme etc. to help the students metamorphose his personality. Interactive sessions are held in the routine classes. The department provides students the stepping stone to reach higher heights in their career.
The department has well equipped laboratory with all necessary instruments, and many specimens of plants and has good facilities with expert laboratory assistants to carry out practical classes. It has a capacity of accommodating up to 36 undergraduate students. Well trained nonteaching staff are actively involved in the regular maintenance and up gradation of the laboratory. The non-teaching staff is helpful and cooperative. The Department has three lecture rooms and one smart classroom for undergraduate students with a vision to serve as catalyst for scientific exploration and knowledge advancement. Further, the department houses a common computer room. Small Botanical gardens of the department are known for the cultivation of several medicinal, and ornamental plants. The department boats of many Alumni, who occupy important academic and professional position.

Department of Zoology

The Department of Zoology of N.A.S College, Meerut came into existence in the year of 2003. The department imparts teaching to students of B.Sc. programme. The students are taught basic and applied aspects of Zoology. The department has a dedicated and well qualified faculty.
The Zoology Department aims to prepare Students for higher learning in specialized areas by providing them an insight into future career options. The Department of Zoology prepares the students to have analytical thinking, to be observant, to have a rationalistic approach, to value and conserve natural resources. The Department has conducts various talks / lecture /excursions/Quizzes/Debates to enhance life skills of students. These activities also escalate students comprehension of their syllabi and complement and supplement the dormant classroom teaching. The Department has one spacious laboratory equipped with all necessary instruments, Specimens, Models, Charts etc. The Department has three lecture rooms and one smart classroom.
